9:30 a.m. – Rev. Dr. Bau Dang’s sermon will be “Please Come Down, Lord” using the Scripture Isaiah 64:1-9.
- 10:45 a.m. – United Methodist Men’s Brunch in Acker Hall. Everyone is invited to join them for Brunch after worship for a time of food and fellowship. $5.00 suggested donation.
- 11:30 a.m. – Vietnamese Worship in the Chapel.
- 7:00 p.m. – Vietnamese Worship in the Chapel.
Coming Events
- Saturday, December 2nd, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon – Come and help deck the hall, or Sanctuary as the case may be! Get a jump-start on Christmas in the church. Be part of the celebration! Cider, coffee, and donuts will be served. And remember, many hands make light work.
- Saturday, December 9th, “How Great Is Our Joy” the Garden Grove United Methodist Church Chancel Choir’s 39th Annual Christmas Dinner and Concert. Doors open 5:30 p.m., Dinner 6:00 p.m. Adults $16, Children $8. If you are unable to attend the dinner you can still attend the Concert for a freewill donation at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Watch for more information.
- Sunday, December 10th, 9:40 a.m. – Annual Children’s Advent Craft Day in Acker Hall. Bring your children to church as usual and then instead of going to Sunday school, we will all go to Acker Hall to make (and eat!!) Christmas cookies, an Advent wreath to take home, and many other fun crafts. Bring friends along to join in the fun! Hope to see lots of our young friends there!
- Sunday, December 24th, 7:00 p.m. – Christmas Eve Service withFamily Pageant in the Sanctuary. This service will include a live pageant, candle lighting, and a message suitable for children, youth, and families and that reflects the beauty of this special night.
Announcements
- The Angel Tree is in the entryway to the Sanctuary! Just choose a tag from the tree and print your name and phone number on the list on the table next to the tree next to the name on the tag you took. Then buy and wrap a gift, attach the tag from the Angel Tree, and bring it to the church by Sunday, December 17th! Have fun shopping! We need help delivering the Angel Tree gifts! Let Janine or Sally Hickman know if you can help. Contact the Church Office, 714-534-1070, if you have any questions.
- Monday, December 25th – Monday, January 1st – The Church Office will be closed for Christmas/New Year’s break.
- Do you sing? Play an instrument? Have a trio, quartet, or other musical group you perform with? Then we are looking for you! Pastor Bau would like to continue having Special Music year round, so if you or someone you know would like to provide music for our Worship service please contact Janine Ryder, exp@ggumc.net or 714-534-1070, to sign up. We have professional accompaniment available by Norberto. We will have the Children and Youth Choirs singing on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays November through May so those Sundays are already covered.
- Remember to look for the clipboard, on the counter in the office next to the Flower Calendar book, to sign up to be a Sunday Greeter! Greeters for December 24th (9:30 a.m. & 7:00 p.m.) and 31stare needed. Signup in the office on the counter clipboard, or call the office at 714-534-1070.
